Your startup doesn't look "investable" yet

A CEO came to me this week with a very specific fear.

"I don't want to give off a vibe that this is a neato idea that investors paid some money for and now it's just still kind of a research project that's halfbaked."

Chef’s kiss. Perfectly said.

He’s absolutely right. I see this ALL the time.

Founders get so in love with their tech that they forget to translate it. The result is their website looks like a NASA whitepaper instead of something that makes investors whip out their checkbooks.

This CEO admitted it himself:

"Right now the website is our front door… we just come across as way too researchy. It's got to be streamlined. It's got to be very focused."

He even told me 65% of visitors bounce after hitting their site.Ouch. That’s like throwing a party, watching everyone walk in, look around, then quietly exit without saying goodbye.

And here’s the tragic part. It doesn’t mean the product is bad.It just means the product is hiding behind a lab coat and forgetting to say hello like a normal human.

Meanwhile, the CEO already knew what his audience wanted:

"Investors want to know like how do I make money on this? … early adopter customers wonder… is this company going to be around tomorrow to service this?"

Yes! Exactly. But just because you know what they want doesn’t mean you know how to achieve it. That’s where I come in.

Here’s the system I walked him through (and the one I use with all my clients):

Week 1: Spark Session

We sit down and uncover your strongest hook and positioning. The kind that makes investors lean forward instead of doing a U-turn.

Week 2: Pitch Script

I take the spark we uncovered and build it into a structured pitch script. It’s the clear roadmap of what to say, in what order, so investors instantly understand why your idea matters. (Think: a well-lit path instead of a chaotic jungle of technical jargon.)

Week 3: Landing Page

I turn that story into a sleek, visual homepage designed to spark curiosity, build trust, and guide eyes exactly where you want them to go.

By the end, you’ve got what you actually need: a story that makes you look investable, not like a science fair project. From there, we can roll that consistency into your pitch deck, collateral, and beyond.

Because at the end of the day, investors aren’t looking for research. They’re looking for returns. Your job is to show them the story that makes that obvious.

Do you have a startup that needs to look investable? You can start by booking just the Spark Session for $500 and walk away with your strongest hook and positioning in hand.
